The 6th Day of Christmas

Sometimes I hear someone say, “I don’t know how a person makes it without the Lord.” The truth is that no one does. The Lord gives us all grace whether we appreciate it or not.

We have just gone through Christmas, and we rejoice that God is with us. We certainly do not deserve such a wonderful gift from Heaven. There is only one explanation as to why we have been given such love, and it is grace.

GRACE IS THE VERY MEANS BY WHICH GOD HAS A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE HUMAN RACE.

“And this shall be a sign unto you, you shall eat this year such things as grow of themselves.” (2 Kings 19:29). How many times have we tasted the sweet fruit of someone else’s labor? There was no cost, it wasn’t earned or necessarily deserved; we received simply because someone was good and generous.

The Bible says that we shall eat THIS YEAR such things that grow themselves. In its context it was a sign of God’s help. The Assyrians had stolen the crops and seed of God’s people, but God would allow crops to grow on their own, without being planted, and folks would eat from them; then in due time the seed would also be replenished. Wouldn’t you call that grace?

This New Year we too can feast on the manna of a bountiful supply. The devil has tried to take our blessings; sometimes he succeeded. God has planted grace all around us; and we can get our lives back. There can be a new wind of revival in 2025 because God is still on His throne; and He is still in charge.

Do we believe that this could be our year of jubilee? I pray that 2025 can be a time when we (and the church) can rediscover what it means to be revived by the grace of God.

“Another year is dawning, dear Father, let it be
In working or in waiting, another year with Thee;
Another year of progress, another year of praise,
Another year of proving Thy presence all the days.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
