DAY OF PEACE
“I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people.”
Psalm 85:8
It matters who we listen to. Monday is here and who knows what the week may bring. We can’t help the voices that are all around us. There are a lot of gloom and doom, unkind and hurtful words out there. Each day we must choose who we are going to listen to..
Will you stand with the Psalmist and listen to the promises of God? If your heart is restless, and storm clouds are in your sky; you can listen to the peace speaker. Hear him say, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.”
How long has it been since you heard this hymn?
“Sometime when misgivings darken the day
And faith’s light I cannot see
I ask my dear Lord to brighten the way
He whispers sweet peace to me

Have you ever tried to listen to more than one voice at the same time? Could it be that we can’t hear the Lord’s whisper because of the clamoring of many voices? I remember that before peace could return to Jarius’ home, Jesus had to put the ridiculing voices of others out of the house. Who we will listen to is a choice we will make.
