2 Chronicles 20:1
“Deliverance of the Lord”
“You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you… do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.” 2 Chronicles 20:17
There is only one reason for a Christian to go into battle, and that is because the Lord sends him/her. Any soldier knows that you don’t go out and fight a skirmish just because you think that it is right thing to do; you go when the Commander says go; and if you are ordered to stand still, then you stand still.
We live in a fighting society; there is always something to raise Cain about. Jesus did not seem to think that way; and all of Heaven celebrates His victory that saved the world. He spoke no unkind words to anyone, and never raised a fist. He never protested, never went on strike; and yet our Lord stood boldly against evil, and He was victorious.
Even His disciples wanted to call down fire on people with whom they disagreed. Jesus said that they did not know who they were, or they would not be that way. If they had known who they were, they would also have realized that they had a greater power than a heart of hate.
Sometimes we come to a place where all that we can do is BE STILL AND KNOW THAT GOD IS GOD. Do not be afraid, and do not be discouraged. We can go out and face the day. He did not say that we would not have a battle; what he said was that the battle is the Lords; and that He will be with us, and deliver us.
“And though this world, with devils filled, should threaten to undo us,
We will not fear, for God hath willed His truth to triumph through us;
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
His rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure,
One little word shall fell him.”

Lyrics:
1. A mighty fortress is our God,
a bulwark never failing; our helper
he amid the flood of mortal ills prevaling.
For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe;
his craft and power are great, and armed with cruel hate,
on earth is not his equal.
2. Did we in our own strength confide,
our striving would be losing, were not the right man on our side,
the man of God’s own choosing.
Dost ask who that may be? Christ Jesus,
it is he; Lord Sabaoth, his name,
from age to age the same, and he must win the battle.
3. And though this world, with devils filled,
should threaten to undo us, we will not fear,
for God hath willed his truth to triumph through us.
The Prince of Darkness grim, we tremble not for him;
his rage we can endure, for lo, his doom is sure;
one little word shall fell him.
4. That word above all earthly powers,
no thanks to them, abideth;
the Spirit and the gifts are ours,
thru him who with us sideth.
Let goods and kindred go, this mortal life also;
the body they may kill;
God’s truth abideth still; his kingdom is forever.
