“Ray Amos – Ephesians 6:12”
From March 21st, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“Our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms…” Ephesians 6:12

Paul wrote to the Ephesians reminding them of the importance of walking the pathway of Christ together. The Psalmist wrote, “What good fellowship we once enjoyed as we walked together to the house of God” (Psalm 55:14). While God is very personal with each one of us, we can never forget that we are in this faith together.

In this text Paul reminds us that it is easy to get confused about who the enemy really is. Soldiers in war are aware of how dangerous “friendly fire” can be. It is just as true in our homes and daily lives. Parents, spouses, friends, and many others sometimes battle against each other while the real enemy looks on with pleasure.

Some who are reading this are in battle today. There are two things we must know: Who our enemy really is, and we must know the Lord.

“Do you not know what these are?’ And I said, ‘No my lord.’ Then he said to me, ‘This is the word of the LORD saying, ‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD…” (Zechariah 4:6).

Some of the strongest people I know are crying when no one can see and are fighting battles alone. Prayer and encouragement can make a big difference in their struggle.

“Before our Father’s throne,
We pour our ardent prayers;
Our fears, our hopes, our aims are one,
Our comforts, and our cares.

We share our mutual woes,
Our mutual burdens bear;
And often for each other flows
The sympathizing tear.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
