“Ray Amos – Hebrews 10:25”
From February 23rd, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

“And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.” Hebrews 10:25

It is important that we keep a “check up” on our relationship with God, and that we watch out for one another.

Many of us grew up, and raised our children, in a culture where missing church wasn’t an option. Church attendance was one of the ways that faith was maintained and kept strong for whatever came our way. We still need the assembling of ourselves together, especially during days like these.

How is our prayer life going? We make sure that our phones are charged, but have you checked the bars on your prayer life lately? Are you ready to pray in an instant, or would you have to get “charged up” first?

How deep are our roots into the heart of God? The storms of life will answer for us. Surface religion may feel good, and require little, but neither can it stand when the wind blows hard against us. There is a place of quiet rest near to the heart of God, and we can go there if we are willing reach for it with longing hearts.

If we stand together, as Christians should, we can lean on each other when the wind blows; and we can put our candles together when all is dark. A song that goes back to night time radio of my childhood says, “The road of life is rough and long, but we will help each other over. You go to your church and I’ll go to mine, but lets walk along together.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
