Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

It’s me again Lord.

Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.” Matthew 9:12

“It’s me again Lord.” How many times have I prayed those words? “I did it again Lord, after I told you that I wouldn’t;” or, “I didn’t do it, after I told you that I would.” Someone once asked me how long does grace extend. I am depending on it extending the length of life; that is how long I will need it.

It has been said that the church is a hospital for the sin sick. It is that, and more: It is a rehab, a repair shop for broken lives, a bakery for hungry souls, a lost and found, a welcome center for new life, and an airport for that heavenly flight.

Church is a fountain of grace that flows from Immanuel’s veins, where the cure for sin is still the blood of Jesus. It is not a place where some need grace, and others have grace to give; but a place where we all need it, and we all share in it.

The richest folks in the church are the poor in spirit; the joyful are the ones who serve, and the merciful receive mercy in return.

So, let’s gather each Sunday and pray together, “It’s us sinners again Lord.” You see, in the church, the difference between the sinners that we were, and the sinners that we are, is one beautiful word: “REDEEMED.”

Bring your sin-sick soul with all its pain. The Doctor is always in. As the old hymn says, “The great Physician now is near, the sympathizing Jesus; He speaks the drooping heart to cheer, Oh, hear the voice of Jesus.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray (1/18/2019)
