“Ray Amos – John 9:25”
From May 22nd, 2024

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

He replied, “Whether he is a sinner or not, I don’t know. One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!” John 9:25

The man had been blind from birth. He was not praying for or expecting to be healed. There is one reason that his eyes were opened on that day: Jesus saw a man who could not see him. Now I do not know the ways of God, why some are physically healed and others are not, His mysterious ways are best and can be trusted. On that day He chose to heal a man.

A blind man could now see, and religious people are angry because compassion on the Sabbath was against the rules; “only a sinner would do that.” They could have been joyful, but they chose anger. They demanded to know who had healed him. “I do not know” was his answer. “One thing I do know. I was blind but now I see!”

This was not a faith healing. No one could pat themselves on the back and say “look at what my prayers, my faith, has done.” This was grace, and grace alone.

God forbid that we brag about what we have done in the area of faith. The good life that we know is not because of how good we are, not because we deserve it, but one day Jesus saw us when we were blind in our sin, and he came to us with the touch of salvation. All we did was let him touch us. “I once was lost but now am found, was blind, but now, I see.”

“The blind man just didn’t dream that this was the day
That Jesus of Nazareth would pass by his way.

Something good is going to happen to you this very day.
Something good is going to happen to you
Jesus of Nazareth is passing your way.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
