A Day Will Come When God Shall Wipe Away All Tears
“This is what the LORD says: “A voice is heard in Ramah, mourning and great weeping, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted…” Jeremiah 31:15
Once again Rachel is weeping for the children. This time in Texas, as well as for broken little hearts and lives all over the world.
A day will come when God shall wipe away all tears. That is an unimaginable act of compassion that we cannot seem to carry out on this earth. When we have no means to wipe them away, Jesus taught us that we can at least weep with them.
Tears are a gift from God, and a language of their own. Washington Irvin wrote, “There is sacredness in tears. They are not the mark of weakness, but of power. They speak more eloquently than ten thousand tongues. They are the messengers of overwhelming grief, of deep contrition, and of unspeakable love.”
The Bible teaches us that tears are a prelude to endless joy. “Weeping last only through the night, but joy will come in the morning.”
Jesus wept when He saw the grief that was in the hearts of His friends at the death of Lazarus. He also wept for the people that would not let Him help them. We cause tears in the eyes of God when we refuse His Love and care.
Many cry the tears of a long night; but they will give way to the dawning of the New Day as the Bright and Morning Star (Jesus) appears. The Lord GOD will wipe away the tears from every face; and on that day Rachel can laugh with the children at last.
“Someone’s’s crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone’s crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone’s crying, Lord, Come by here!
O Lord, Kum ba yah
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
