“KEY TO THE STOREHOUSE – PASS IT ON”

Modern Christianity is suffering from a lack of good news. It is not because we don’t have an abundance of it; but we seem to have lost the key to the storehouse. I notice how quick we are to hear and tell bad news; and how we dig into it to learn all the details. We excuse this by saying that is human nature.

We were created in the image of God whose nature is to bring Good News into the World. Perhaps it is time to repent and get our true nature back.

Before the Gospel, the world had been through a long time of silence from Heaven. Life was hard for the residents of earth when suddenly a light came into the night and an angel said, “I bring you Good Tidings of Great Joy.”

I suggest to you that this is the grandest time for the church to be in existence. “I never was so glad to hear a siren,” a woman said to the ambulance driver. When we need help we appreciate the sound of it coming. This world needs help that can only come from Heaven. Sound the trumpet! Shout it from the mountain tops! “Our help comes from the Lord, and He is here!”

I had a wedding where a child was supposed to precede the bride while slowly and softly ringing a bell. As we waited we finally heard the sound. The bell was ringing fast and loud, as the child decided on her own to shout out, “She’s Coming!” I thought, “We need this in church.” We need folks who are excited to shout it out, “Good News! Jesus is here.” Evangelism is simply sharing the best news in the entire world.

“I wish for you my friend, this happiness that I’ve found
You can depend on him (Jesus) it matters not where you’re bound.
I’ll shout it from the mountain top;
I want my world to know; the Lord of love has come to me,
I want to pass it on.”
