Joel 3:16

Lost in the Forest

“The LORD also shall roar out of Zion and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.” Joel 3:16

Lost in the forest, the young one could hear trouble stalking him. How much longer could he go? He was tired, frightened, and to his breaking point. Then he heard it; the whole forest heard it. It was a sound that sent chills down the spine of the most ferocious; and commanded that all be still. The roar that frightened all the forest dwellers was the same roar that brought him joy. “Father!” The cub called, “I am here.”

There is a roar that will bring fear or happiness. It depends on our relationship with God; and that is also why I want to be a child of God. When the Lord roars out of Zion, when his voice thunders, and the earth shakes; I want to say, “That’s my Father!”

We can feel so lost in this world. The Bible says that the devil is out as a roaring lion seeking someone to devour, and another life to tear apart. He can only pretend to be the lion; there is no authority in his roar; it is a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal when compared to the Lion of Heaven.

“The Lord will be the hope of his people.” We can get through any time of trouble, go through the darkest valley, cross the raging rivers; and endure anything that comes our way because we are in the care of the Lion of the tribe of Judah.

“Our God is an awesome God,
He reigns from heaven above
with wisdom, power, and love
Our God is an awesome God!”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
