Genesis 9:6 King James Version (KJV)
THOUGHT FOR TODAY, December 30, 2019
“Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.”
The Christmas story had been told and a little boy was fascinated with Mary, Joseph and Jesus. Later that day he saw a kind woman helping a stranger who seemed down and out. The child ran up to her and asked, “Are you Jesus’ Mother?” She answered, “No, but I am a child of God.” With a million dollar smile the boy said, “I knew that you had to be kin to Him.”
We are all made in the image of God, and if we are willing to walk with Christ it will surely show. Jesus said, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” That should be true for each child of God; there should be some family resemblance.
It has been said that we are the only Christ some people will see. I believe that Christ is greater than that and that He is visible with or without you and me; but I also believe that if we are Christians others should be able to see Jesus in our lives. The greatest compliment we could have is like the one in Acts 4:13, “They could tell that they (Peter and John) had been with Jesus.”
The words of this chorus speak my prayer today: “To be like Jesus, to be like Jesus, All I ask to be like Him.
All thro’ life’s journey from earth to Glory, All I ask to be like Him.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
