“…walk humbly with your God?” Micah 6:8
“…I would rather walk in the dark with God, than walk alone in the light.
I would rather walk with Him by faith, than walk alone by sight.”
Three men stood before their king. “Bow before me or face the furnace,” was his command. “We will trust God,” was their answer. Three men were cast into the fire. “They should have obeyed me,” the king surely thought. Then pride soon vanished when he saw that four men walked and talked in the fire; and the fourth was the Son of God. I would rather walk in the fire with God, than deny my God above.
“If it is you Lord, let me come to you, let me walk the stormy sea.” “Then come Peter, walk with me,” the Lord did say. With eyes on Jesus, he walked on water until he feared the wind. “Save me Lord,” was his cry. Then a hand reached down to pull him from the drowning waters. It isn’t written, but it had to be, that they walked together back to the boat. I would rather walk with God in the storm than to face this life on my own.
All of us will walk the path that is set before us today and we can’t see beyond our next step. Who can know where this road goes? What I know is that I do not have to walk alone. Let the words of the song encourage us along the way: “I’ll walk with God, from this day on. His helping hand I’ll lean upon. This is my prayer my humble plea: May the Lord be ever with me…”
