“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” Psalm 107:2-3
A boy made a little sail boat attached to a string. It was a beautiful piece of work. As he played with it in a stream one day it got away, and was lost. Days later he saw it in a store window for sale. He asked for it, but the store owner explained that he had bought it from someone, and it was now his. The young man went out and earned enough money to buy it. As he left the store and held the boat close, he said, “You are mine twice: First I made you, then I bought you back.”
“So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female and God blessed them…” Genesis 1 27-28
All was well in God’s garden. He and His friends walked together in the cool of the evening. Then, because of sin they became lost. That is our story also. Some get lost and are in a panic; many are lost and don’t even know it; but lost is lost.
The Lord looked upon us and we were lost sheep. His sheep had become the property of the wolf that would destroy them. There was one thing to do: Redeem them at a great price. Child of God, “You are not your own; you were bought with a price. Therefore honor God…” (1 Cor. 6:19-20)
To be a Christian is to be His twice. God created us, and we too were attached to his heart. Then, when we were lost in sin, he bought us back; and oh what a price He paid.
“Redeemed, how I love to proclaim it!
Redeemed by the blood of the Lamb;
Redeemed through His infinite mercy,
His child, and forever, I am.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
