“ROAD TO HEAVEN”
There is an old gospel song that has a very important question: “Which road leads to heaven, I find so few that know. They tell me there are mansions, and the streets are made with gold. I’ve never seen a mansion, but in heaven they tell me they’re free; and I’ve asked the Lord to save one especially for me.”
There was a time in the land of not long ago that we used roadmaps, and planned our trips. The hardest task was folding the map back up. Today we have an app for directions. It is much easier and more likely to get you there without getting you lost; but I did enjoy studying the map before taking a trip.
Which road leads to Heaven? It has become the unasked question in modern Christianity. It once was the serious work of the church to help as many as we could to find the way to Heaven. There is a Book that can show you the way; and the Way is Jesus. I remember my Father singing, “I’m using my Bible for a Roadmap.”
Once saints would promise each other that they would meet in the morning by the bright riverside with a “how do you do.” My soul still hears them sing: “Heaven, happy home above, Heaven, land of peace and love, Oh, it makes me feel like traveling on;’ because, ‘Heaven will surely be worth it all, worth all the sorrows that here befall.”
John Wesley wrote, “I want to know one thing,—the way to heaven; how to land safe on that happy shore. God himself has condescended to teach me the way. For this very end He came from heaven. He hath written it down in a book. O give me that book! At any price, give me the book of God.”
Now, let’s everybody get a hymnal and sing, “When we all get to Heaven, what a day of rejoicing that will be.”

When We All Get to Heaven
Sing the wondrous love of Jesus
Sing His mercy and His grace
In the mansions, bright and blessed
He’ll prepare for us a place
When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
While we walk the pilgrim pathway
Clouds will overspread the sky
But when traveling days are over
Not a shadow, not a sigh
When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
Onward to the prize before us
Soon His beauty we’ll behold
Soon the pearly gates will open
And we shall tread the streets of gold
When we all get to Heaven
What a day of rejoicing that will be
When we all see Jesus
We’ll sing and shout the victory
