“Ray Amos – Song of Solomon 3:2-4”
From February 14th, 2025

Rev. Ray and Pat Amos

I will get up now, and go about the city; in the streets and in the squares I will seek him whom my soul loves. I sought him, but I didn’t find him. The watchmen who go about the city found me; “Have you seen him whom my soul loves?” I had scarcely passed from them, when I found him whom my soul loves. I held him, and would not let him go,… Song of Solomon 3:2-4

The girl dreamed of her lover. In those dreams she was looking up and down the streets for him. The night shift police found her wandering, but they had not seen the one she loved. Then she found him, and would not let him go.

A line in the old hymn says, “Yet, in my dreams I’d be, nearer my God to Thee, nearer to Thee.” Are we as much in love with the Lord as the woman in this story is with her beloved? “All night long…I looked for the one my heart loves.”

“Seek the Lord while He may be found. Call upon Him while He is near.” If you search for the Lord with your whole heart; He has promised that you will find Him. Happy are those who do find the One that their heart loves, and who are determined to never let Him go.

A favorite gospel song says, “I love you, I love you. That’s what Calvary said; I love you, I love you, – I LOVE YOU WRITTEN IN RED.”

It is Valentine’s Day. The perfect Valentine for Heaven or earth is the Holy Bible. Let the front read, “Love God with all your heart,” and the back say, “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Everything in between is God saying, “I love you!”

“And I think to myself, ‘What a wonderful world.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
