Rev. Ray and Pat Amos
Judges 13:24
THOUGHT FOR TODAY, September 6, 2019
“…the child grew up and the LORD blessed him.”
We were browsing in a store when I ran across an interesting book. It was a High School Yearbook from a school I did not know, but it was the same year that Pat and I graduated (1969). I was a little disturbed by my find because we were in an antique store.
I love to hear the joyful sound of the children in the halls of our church preschool. Jesus said, “Of such is the Kingdom of Heaven,” and it is that way around here. They wave a little hand, give me five; and some learn to say, “Go Duke!” I look into their eyes: “Where are they going in this world so quick; who will they become?” Milton wrote, “Childhood shows the man, as morning shows the day.”
A sign on a shop said, “Antiques Made Here.” Slow down children, a fast pace world makes antiques quickly.
If Heaven had yearbooks, what would the year of your class be? Would we look at our pictures and laugh, shed a few tears, and talk much about the grace of God? We are not the same as we were, and we are not who we shall be. John wrote, “Dear friends, now we are God’s children. What we will be isn’t completely clear yet. We do know that when Christ appears we will be like Him because we will see Him as He is.” 1st John 3:2
There must be a sign over Heaven’s door somewhere: “All Things Made New Here.”
Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
