Job 38:1-3
Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: “Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself; I will question you and you shall answer me.”
The dog with its tail tucked ran back and forth from one person to another. There were so many well-meaning voices (and a few angry ones) and he didn’t know what to do. Being stuck in the middle of a busy highway intersection was like a nightmare that was real. Then he heard the voice that made the difference, the voice of his master.
Like a shepherd, the voice called him by his name and that was enough to take away his fear. With a run and a leap he was in his master’s arms. “There, there, little friend; got yourself in a mess did you?” With eyes of adoration that never looked away from his savior’s face, and a tail that wagged with happy praise; all was well, all was well.
Sometimes it seems like the whole world is lost in the intersection of life. Everyone has an answer to our confusion; and there are multitudes of opinions that imply, “If God and people would see it my way we would fix this mess.”
What would we do if God came to us in a whirlwind, and He asked the questions? “Then the Lord spoke to Job out of the storm. He said: ‘Who is this that obscures my plans with words without knowledge? Brace yourself; I will question you and you shall answer me.” Job 38:1-3
God often come to us in the storms, and our confusion is our acknowledgement that we don’t know the answers; nor are we really so smart with life as we want to think we are.
Lord, I want to be like the dog. Let me run to you and leap into your arms. Let me worship and adore you. I desire to hear you call my name and say: “There, there, my friend; got yourself into a mess did you? Then, one look into your eyes will tell all that my heart needs to know: All is well. All is well.”
“All is well all is well. Let there be peace on earth. Christ is come, go and tell … Sing Alleluia, Sing Alleluia, all is well.”
