Acts 10:4

“Your prayers and your alms have come up for a memorial before God.”

“WHEN GOD IS IN IT”

The Lord watched as his faithful servant stepped up to the pulpit. There had been many great preachers to stand in that Holy spot, but none of them were any more useful to the Kingdom of God than this man.

Sermons are delivered in different styles, and this man certainly had his own. He lived what he believed, and some people said that they could see Jesus in him. He just had a way of making life a little brighter.

Today was what he called “Make the Pulpit Shine Day,” and the Lord was watching. Good sermons start in the heart, and so does everything that is done for the Lord. If the heart is not in it, then is it really an act of worship? Today the Lord would be served well from a true and righteous soul.

As he stepped up to the pulpit a strange thought came to him. It almost seemed out of place. “Where did the term ‘Man of the Cloth’ come from?” He knew that it really did not matter; he was just curious. Even though he wasn’t a “preacher” or pastor, he was a man of the cloth, and he took his cloth and began to shine the pulpit.

Today we remember with thanksgiving all the faithful servants of God who do the many things that others do not see being done. God would have you to know that He sees, and your works come before Him as a sweet-smelling savor. It takes all of us together to do the work of the church in an effective way. Thanks to everyone who does anything no matter how small it seems. Nothing that is done for the Lord is little. The song is correct, “Little is much when God is in it.”

Grace and Peace, Rev Ray
