THOUGHT FOR TODAY, September 8, 2020
“Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”
This beautiful Labor Day is ended. Shades ministry team served a picnic meal including hamburgers , hotdogs and sundaes to our community friends. I’m thankful for essential servants who keep the mission active.
Over a year ago, a lady in our community lost employment and faced eviction. She came into my office and was devastated. She felt so hopeless, and asked if there was any help we could offer. I felt guided to give her $1,000. to help with deposits and such. She left feeling hope renewed. Since that day, she became employed and housed. Every payday, she stops by with tithes in an envelope. Today, she knocked on the door, and gave an envelope with $350. She has given back far more than she initially received. Today’s money will pay it forward to assist someone else. This is the economy of God’s kingdom.
Jesus said, “Give and it will be given back to you, pressed down, shaken together and running over shall people give into your hands.” Also, Proverbs says, “Whoever gives to the poor lend to the Lord, and the Lord will repay.” I’m so blessed to see the church of Acts in operation every day.
