I stopped in a local business a few days ago. Was joyfully greeted by the proprietor and family. I didn’t recognize them, but they were so nice. Told me they had been down on luck several years ago. He said Shades of Grace had served many meals to his family and they would never forget it. His son said “And I’ve taken many showers down there too.”
This week begins 9 years of ministry. I remember telling my DS I was being called to start a storefront church. He asked, “Where so you think you should do this?” Initially I said Johnson City (since I live in Washington County) and he said, “Kingsport is where it will be”. I can’t imagine it being anywhere else and know the name Shades of Grace was inspired to me by God.
Every day brings mercies that are new and grace that is more than enough. I sincerely thank God for all the challenges we’ve been through that help make us a congregation solidly built upon Jesus’ all inclusive love and acceptance of all people. Thanks to each of you who faithfully stand by this ministry with the least of these.
