Will Shewey – What is Happening at Shades of Grace

Jen was a victim of domestic abuse and consequently became homeless. She worked daily but slept in her car because wages were not adequate for sustenance. That job closed unexpectedly and employees were left unpaid.

Recently, she became permanently housed through Shades of Grace partnership and received a new, better paying job. Last week she came in and we scheduled her baptism for today, since she is off Wednesdays. Her only regret about the job is not being able to attend worship on Sundays.

This week, a coworker asked her to trade days off for family reasons, and have Sunday free. Today, we followed through with her baptism, and she is now able to attend worship on Sundays. It has been a good day in God’s Living Room. She is number 89th baptism at Shades since we began 4 years ago.
