Pastor Will Shewey, Shades of Grace United Methodist Church
Sunday – CrossPoint Church served 115 community meals today. We are grateful for these faithful partners in ministry.
Landon Bellamy provided special music for today’s worship service. He is truly gifted to sing and share his faith.
Several first time guests were in attendance, and a large online congregation participated by live stream. (Why not look up today’s service on our FB page and share with a friend)? Please see the link below for Facebook live Sunday Services

Our pastors and lay leader each shared a portion of today’s message, by relating experiences of the first two weeks of 2019 in God’s Living Room.
A man arrived while service was going on, looking for an AA meeting. His feet and clothing were soaking wet, and he was hungry. Following worship, he ate and was clothed. He shared with Jack and Pastor Regina that he has never before been in a “church” service until today. He had quite a few questions about what was going on.
Pray for a young man who is suicidal and asked me to call the EMS to get help. He left after service in an ambulance.
Shades of Grace is a hospital for both sinner and saint. Our staff and volunteers often feel like we are working in an emergency room and mental health clinic. We are blessed to be a life saving station along city streets. Blessing to all our faithful friends! It is well!
Shades of Grace UMC depends on many people, churches and many communities to fund their efforts for resources for the least, lost, lonely and the forgotten. If you can’t give, remember all these in prayer . . . The ones who volunteer and work tirelessly to make a better life for those in need . . . And pray for those who receive that they may prosper and pay forward God’s Mercy and Grace.
Shades of Grace pays it forward to meet even more needs – This is just one story among . . . too many to tell:
“I am a single mom of 3 wonderful boys!! We are blessed to have a roof over our heads and in warmth!! Praise Jesus for that!! I wanted to tell you how grateful I am for all you stand for!! I couldn’t afford to make a huge Thanksgiving dinner for my boys but this year I was determined!! I had bought what I could as I could. On Thanksgiving Day I had a small pre-cooked ham and just a few simple side items. I was sad that I couldn’t afford a turkey or even a bigger ham that I could make with my children’s help. My boys didn’t seem to mind at all like they told me “Mom at least we are together and have some food”.
Before I could get the food started I had an unexpected visitor from some good friends of mine that attend Shades of Grace.. They had boxes of left over food from your Thanksgiving dinner that you had made prepared and fed to one’s who had nothing to eat or just wanted to be there!? Any how… Thanks to you and friends and the good Lord watching my family had the biggest feast ever on that Day!!
We had so much turkey we were feeding it to others!! We had the most memorable day thanks to you all!!!! I am truly blessed!! My boys and I will be visiting soon!! Maybe even join every Sunday and more! We don’t have much, but we are rich with love! Love to give and take God Bless you all!! And again thank you for the biggest smiles on my boy’s face with a dinner I couldn’t have pulled off alone!!
