We Didn’t Make This Up . . . They are called “little white lies.” Just in the world of “Driving”, “Maintaining” and “Purchasing” Vehicles, there are numerous little white lies. Here’s a list. How many have you heard before?
1. This won’t take a minute.
2. I’ll be honest with you.
3. To make a long story short.
4. It’ll be ready tomorrow.
5. I can get it for you wholesale.
6. Have a “fresh made” donnut.
7. I know I said I wouldn’t, but I couldn’t stop myself.
8. My car wouldn’t start this morning.
9. He did it.
10. If anything goes wrong with it, bring it back.
11. It’s still under warranty.
12. Your credit is better than you think.
13. It’s safer than walking.
14. Sure, you can afford it.
15. But everybody will be there.
16. Be with you in two minutes.
17. Been driven only by a little old lady.
18. They don’t make them like they used to.
19. I owe you.
20. I can pay you on payday.
21. It wasn’t that way when I drove it.
22. The sun was in my eyes.
23. Black ice – it must have been black ice.
24. I wish I could buy this one myself.
25. We’re losing money on this deal.
26. Someone else must have moved it.
27. Yes, I did come to a full stop!
28. No problem. We’ll work out the payments.
29. It wasn’t my fault.
30. It’ll only be one percent interest.
31. Of course I didn’t forget.
32. Yours is next in line.
33. It will be fixed by tomorrow.
34. I don’t need to ask at a gas station. I know where I am.
35. I’m in no hurry.
36. Of course, I’m sure.
37. I’ll do this just for you.
38. We’ll give you the “house deal.”
39. All looks the same to me.
40. Nobody will ever notice it.
41. Trust me.
42. You’ll never get too old to drive.
43. We will cooperate fully.
44. I don’t look at the pictures; I buy it for the articles.
45. It won’t break.
46. Of course, I remember you.
47. I’ll see what I can do.
48. That’s just an estimate; of course, but it shouldn’t come to much more.
49. I wasn’t driving too fast for the weather conditions.
50. I wasn’t driving too fast in “my condition”.
51. The customer is always right.
52. I don’t need this job.

55. I didn’t see ’em.
56. I was following the two-second rule.
57. Not my job.

59. That’s at our cost.
