REASONS to Be THANKFUL

Luke 12:22-32
What do we need from God that we can’t provide for ourselves? “Acts 17:28, reminds us, “For in Him we live, and move, and have our being.”

Every beat of our hearts…….Every breath we take, comes from the Father. He also meets our EVERY need, “But my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

What a wonder-FULL, kind and attentive Heavenly Father! God assures us times of peace in all of our troubles. “These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” (John 16:33)

God is the absolute source of real love. “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God.” (I John 3:1)

God supplies help in every time of need. Psalm 46:1 reassures us that “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

He gives us victory in time of temptation. “There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted about that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.” (I Cor. 10:13)
Who REALLY knows what forgiveness is? “Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do,” Jesus cried from the Cross.” (Luke 23:34)

I John 1:9 guarantees: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

Need of a purpose for “Keep on ‘a keep’n on?” “For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord,” Jeremiah 29:11 clearly says, “thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.”

Who has the ultimate, most marvelous of gifts? Jesus tells us in John 10:28, “And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.”

Without Him, we can’t do anything of any value. NOTHING! “I am the vine, ye are the branches,” Jesus said in John 15:5, “He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”

Finally, on this Thanksgiving holiday occasion, remember our absolute dependency on Almighty God in Christ Jesus our Lord and Saviour, John 1:16, “And of his fullness have all we received.”
