God Shall Wipe Away All Tears
THOUGHT FOR TODAY, 1-29-2026
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes…” Revelation 21:4″
I neither knew them or what was going on. It was raining a chilly rain and they stood under store awning and talked. It was plain to see that life had not been easy for them. She was older, and he was young. Suddenly she took her hand, reached over and wiped tears from his eyes. She had a likeness of God that too few know.
There was a line of people sending and receiving money. Money was being wired to and from, loved ones who were hurting or helping. She waited her turn; her face I could not see. But her little girl could, and this I heard her say, “Don’t cry mommy, mommy don’t cry.” God save us from hearts that do not see the pain of others.
When Jesus saw friends and loved ones weeping in sorrow, He too wept. He also wept over Jerusalem, His people, who went about with their religion and yet did not know their God was the one they were hurting the most. Is He still weeping today because we have not changed?
“Man may dismiss compassion from his heart, but God never will.” -William Cowper
What if we could have compassion for God who loves us? Would we wipe the tears from His eyes if we could? What if we stopped pointing at others in judgment and used our hands to wipe tears and offer the mercy of God. Not just for the wronged, but even for the wrong. They sometimes cry the hardest. (See Luke 22:62)
“Someone’s crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone’s crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
Someone’s crying, Lord, Kum ba yah!
O Lord, Kum ba yah.”
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes…” Revelation 21:4
