Growing Old Gracefully
“The silver-haired head is a crown of glory, if it is found in the way of righteousness” (Prov 16:31, NKJV).
Some people say they want to grow old gracefully, when they mean they want to live a long, long time without looking their age. While neglecting what really matters—the inner self, they enrich plastic surgeons, cosmetic companies, supplement peddlers, and others in the age-defying industry.
The secret to aging gracefully is to age in grace: “All of this is happening for your good. As grace is spread to the multitudes, there is a growing sound of thanks being uttered by those relishing in the glory of God. So we have no reason to despair. Despite the fact that our outer humanity is falling apart and decaying, our inner humanity is breathing in new life every day (2 Corinthians 4:15-16, The Voice).
Growing old gracefully results from being filled with God’s grace.
